Yeah... I pretty much did this a long time ago. It's called being a mature adult.
The only thing I don't do is respect *everyone*, because there are some people who A) don't deserve it, and B) don't respect you if you treat them with respect.
I have a coworker who treated almost everyone around her like crap (she'd kiss the butt of the managers though). I tried being nice to her, but she just treated me even worse. Eventually I just started a tit-for-tat approach, where every time she was rude to me, I'd be rude right back, otherwise I wouldn't say anything. She hasn't completely changed over the nearly 4 years I've worked with her, but she's MILES better than she was when I started working with her.
So, yes, you should try to be a good human being, but you can't let the a$$hats walk all over you. Sometimes you have to treat someone as badly they treat you. It's not like they haven't earned it. |

I agree with what he is saying but coming from a guy that calls women in his audience "slut" if they say anything to him during his shows.
this guy has gone on screaming tirades against more people on camera than I can count on both hands.
so while I am down with the message, the one delivering it needs to start living by it. |
