Sunday, August 19, 2012 3:41:54 PM Seeing as everything they said was right, what are our new predictions for the internet? Many will call this insane but I foresee a global linking of the minds, being able to share thought, experiences, dreams and more with everyone. Granted it will take some upgrades to interface with the system but all in due time. |

Saturday, August 18, 2012 9:38:02 PM Don't forget BOFH! I was logging onto BBSs back in the 80s, but I first got on the Internet at work in 1994. I had to download the source code for X-Mosaic from NCSA and compile it to run on a Sun SPARCstation. This was before the release of Netscape 1.0. We had a pretty fast connection where I worked, but I suffered with dial-up for years before I signed up for one of the very first cable modems in town -- 1 Mbit downloads, but uploads still ran over the phone line. Now I can't imagine a world in which I would actually have to put on pants to go to work. |

Saturday, August 18, 2012 11:20:32 AM There were recipes for cats on the Internet in 1995? That's so progressive. Although children read this bit of propaganda, they had no role in writing it. |
