@ carmium - They pick your dates for you?! Is this something you signed up for, or was it mandatory for everyone to choose their date that way? What if you genuinely couldn't make it? (Sorry, I'm supposed to be the maid of honor in my cousins wedding that day) Or if you had a boyfriend and wanted to go with him? Or what if you simply didn't want to attend the event?
I've never heard of anything like this before... |

When I was in school, we had a "grad draw" - pick one girl's name, one boy's, from two hats and they had a date to "grad" (the Canadian version of senior prom). A computer program finally matched random people by height, but my assigned "date" was just awful. I would rather have stayed home than have the memory of that evening.
