Someone's been watching too much faux news. Statements before presidency (assuming this is true) are irrelevant, when I'm talking about what he's actually done. He's done pretty much nothing in terms of gun control. Even after the Aurora shooting, his statement said he was going to work toward enforcing EXISTING laws. Republicans and faux news keep spreading the lie that Obama's going to "take away our guns" when he has done absolutely nothing to show that he's even headed anywhere near that direction. I wish he was going to try to pass stricter gun control laws because gun ownership and the NRA have gotten way too out of control in this country, but it's very unlikely that he'll do gun control that even the majority of the country agrees with. |

Funny, per capita,more unsolved crimes in England.You also have an alarming rate of death by knife wounds. And you still lead europe in suicide.Not doing so well since we broke away,huh? Speaking as a Brit...
On the one hand, almost all of us are never gonna get the American obsession with guns.
Likewise, you're never gonna understand why we have the strictest firearms laws in the world. You have no idea what it takes to get a shotgun even. As for having a permit to carry if you're not a law enforcement officer or military on duty, it's nigh impossible. Our special forces even (I mean SAS) rarely carry off duty.
We don't get how, despite these massacres happening again and again and again, you don't shut it all down. The cultural divide is Grand Canyon sized. There are millions of us in the UK who are happily gun free. Really, genuinely happily gun free.
However, I own a lot of their songs. I liked their songs. I said liked, because I just deleted them. I cannot listen anymore to someone who spouts stuff like that. That disrespects the dead, and that's totally unacceptable. |

mcgovern, we have firearms, we just dont wave them about. i could get a gun right now if I wanted to, why would I need one? Our police have guns (locked up in their cars, they just dont carry them around) someone gets shot here, it's on the news for weeks! |

Fast and Furious started in 2009, but Arizona has employed a 'gunwalking' strategy since 2006. Yet I don't think Bush probably had any more knowledge of it than Obama did.

Nope people still kill people and politicians are the best at it. F&F is not a game it's something that actually happened. If you give guns to organized crime to shoot people with so you can further anti gun politics is it really for the peoples saftey or something else? |

Do you realise that they are a warrior religion? That they are required to carry a sword or knife at all times?
I read a piece recently by a journalist who had actually (unlike you) had lunch with some Sikhs and visited the Gudwara. Most of them not only owned handguns but carried them regularly. They were surprised that no-one had shot the gunman. |

I am sure it is not true, however it is far less unlikely than Bush conspiring to cause the WTC attacks. |

Dave is articulate. His perspective on going born-again is one that is really reasonable, and very much against trying to force those beliefs on others. Also he has great respect for all forms of music, rather than being one of those metalheads that mocks anything different.
But politically... Well. You're never too smart or too articulate to be wrong. Or at least not absolutely correct. |
