@Gerry: Most glaciers started melting around the mid-1800s. The industrial revolution started around 1750, and the Swiss industry started booming near the mid 1800s. |

The Vatican and, significantly, U.S. bishops clearly say they support the scientific consensus on climate change. It simply makes sense for a glacier retreat prayer to be changed. Besides, prayer is mystical and in the mundane, prayer intentions should be expressed in deeds.
From the looks of it the catholic church has a more enlightened and pro-active worldview than the murricans posting here...
