lordpoee, with all due respect to your hardworking family, I think he mostly meant in terms of rights. Straight white males have pretty much always been on top of the civil food chain, though that doesn't say everything of how difficult an individual's life has been. |

We? We started on third base? HAHA that's the problem. Stop thinking as a race and start thinking as individuals. Let me tell you this: I didn't even start on the damn ball field. My mom hauled SCRAP metal on her back when she was pregnant with my sister so we would have enough food. My dad would salvaged parts from junked cars for food and beer. My uncles did the SAME.
So no WE didn't start on third base. |

My mom who is Caucasian got into her college and got it paid for in California because white people where the minority.

My wife learned in her Ethnic Studies class that no matter the situation, a white person can never be a minority.

Lame. I have gotten turned down for a number of jobs because they were looking for "a diverse work force", and almost every scholarship offered by my school is for minorities. I'm not saying I have it bad, but I am saying that white privilege isn't as potent as this guy thinks. |

Wow people are weird. Apparently, I didn't get to where I am on my own. I hope people realize, for this to be true, every single institution in society has to be racist. It's 2012, the most powerful man in the world is black. I'm not seeing institutional racism.
People forget that there are MILLIONS of black people who ARE richer than MILLIONS of white people. Do those white people have an advantage? Under the logic of some of these people middle class black people should be helped before white people in poverty. Just stop thinking about race and think about those who have less money. It's creepy as fuq. |

I agree with this 100%. Nothing more pathetic than people with every advantage to whine about what little help other people get to approach having as much. I'm a white woman and I know what advantages I already have being white, although I've made it a point to never ask for special help as a woman with a business because I want to make it on my own and I have the brains and skills to do it. White men who won't do what it takes to succeed only have themselves to blame. |

What a f**king prick!! I don't understand why people still seem to feel the need to separate themselves from the rest of the world because of their color. We are all human beings, inside we're all the same so it shouldn't matter what color we are on the outside. |

1. There are more poor white people than any other group in America.
2. Asians are richer than white people.
3. Black Americans have been more successful and have contributed more to world culture than black people in any other country.
4. Hispanics are pretty successful considering that most of them came very recently from a 3rd world country with nothing.
As for myself, I don't see how I got a "head start". It's harder for me to get into a good college because of my color. I didn't go to very good high schools. I have been searched by cops and TSA plenty of times. The leader of the country is even black.
I feel like liberals often wish we were still living in the 1950's so their rhetoric was still relevant. |
