It's not just Europeans that have a negative perception of the US. I've seen it the world over.
I actually like most of the Americans I've met...I was twice attached to US units whilst in the military so worked, and lived with them with just two of us Brits amongst them...one of my ex girlfriends was American and I lived there with her for a time and found her friends and family to be really welcoming, modest, and interesting. However, the larger perception of Americans around a lot of the world is generally loud-mouthed braggards....right or wrong that's the perception.
Same for us Brits... a lot of Europe has the perception all of our youths just drink till they get obnoxious and fighty, because that's the side they see in their tourist resorts from all the dickheads of ours that go over there and do that.
*we* all know that not everyone is like that, |
