Thursday, August 09, 2012 1:21:45 PM Yeah. That's what everyone actually goes to McDonald's for: Grilled chicken and salad. It's good that they have it but I'm guessing, just a guess mind you, that those are not really their BIG sellers! Remember darkmagic: essentially, I agree with you - we can make appropriate meal choices most places that we go and fast food places aren't dragging us out of our homes and pushing quarter pounders and cheese fries down our throats (wouldn't be too surprised if they tried to!), but they certainly do take full advantage of our human capacity to be seduced by cheesy, fatty, artery-clogging tastiness! Personally, I almost never go to those places. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 8:26:55 PM @darkmagic14n: "let me go eat 5000 calories of chocolate and not gain a pound, or if you want healthy, let me go eat 5000 calories of fruit and not gain a pound." As far as nutritional value goes, talk to your doctor. I don't need to, I am one. You're correct. The problem, however, is the much greater ease of eating the 5000 calories of chocolate since it's a much smaller volume. It's also much easier to eat a proper caloric and vitamin content meal with foods like baked chicken, green beans and water than with Big Macs and Coke. Calorie content is an important part of weight control, yes. Balanced meals are important to overall health. Overeating healthy foods leads to weight gain, yes. Overeating unhealthy foods leads to greater weight gain and additional health issues. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 1:52:51 PM @patchgrabber and @lovepath7: do you guys even read? like I said, eating mcdonalds doesn't make you fat, eating a lot of mcdonalds makes you fat and as far as nutritional value goes, maybe you should watch something other than super size me to get your facts about mcdonalds, may I suggest fathead. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 11:31:42 AM If caloric value is as far as one goes in determining the health quality of their food choices, you are a moron. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 8:26:57 AM @darkmagic: Weight you may lose, but cholesterol you will gain. Hope you enjoyed those arteries while they weren't clogged with McDonald's resin. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 8:19:15 AM @tedgp: really? let me go eat 5000 calories of chocolate and not gain a pound, or if you want healthy, let me go eat 5000 calories of fruit and not gain a pound. on the inverse, let me eat 3 meals a day at mcdonalds, not exceeding 500 calories each meal, and watch me lose weight, w/o any exercise what so ever (maintenance for my body is 2000 calories). like I said, eating a LOT of mcdonalds makes you fat, but eating a lot of anything (calories-wise, not weight of food-wise) makes you fat. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 7:11:54 AM Caption is pure ad hominem. I've chuckled about McDicks and Coke being the biggest sponsors of the Olympics. It is quite counterintuitive. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 5:48:47 AM FYI RDJ = AFX not ironman I think she meant ironman. And of course, AFX probably isn't stupid enough to bother with twitter, unless it's for marketing stuff. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 1:33:32 AM Robb79, Fat people have a disease like gamblers have a disease... Wait... you can't get a disease from addiction. And an addiction is not a disease. "I can't stop stuffing my face with food, I have a disease." No you don't. You're just a stupid fat f#cker. Bottom line. Put down the bucket of chicken. |

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 12:41:50 AM eating mcdonald's doesn't inherently make you fat, eating a LOT of mcdonald's makes you fat, but then again, eating a lot of ANYTHING makes you fat. ------ Wrong. |

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 10:12:27 PM It is not a valid observation at all. How would a sponsor for an athletic event be compared to a treatment for a disease? One doesn't affect the thing it sponsors, while the other causes the thing it tries to distance itself from. A more apt comparison would be Budweiser sponsoring an automobile race. Oh yeah. , that happens too. IAB, after 5 years, I think I'm leaving you. |
