This post makes no sense. First of all, the games are hosted by the U.K, not the English. Stop excluding the other parts of the U.K, it's ignorant and racism stems from ignorance. Secondly, a post of someone holding some notes that was taken at some undetermined point does not bear the slightest causal link to the Olympics, unless you've had a stroke or been starved of oxygen. |

Pierre de Coubertin only founded the IOC after visiting the Olympian Games of the Wenlock Olympian Society in 1890. The first official IOC controlled Olympics was in 1896.
You could therefore argue that the father of the modern olympics was in fact Dr William Penny Brookes and the first modern games was held in Wenlock, England in 1850.
You could also argue that Evangelos Zappas was responsible for the revival of the Olympic games after sponsoring the Olympics games in Athens in 1859.
Both of these pre-date anything relating to Baron de Coubertin. |

Actually, it was a French guy called Pierre de Coubertin, he revived the games in 1864 and it took London 5 Olympics before they hosted it. We didn't do everything dude. Haha |
