Wednesday, August 08, 2012 4:59:20 AM "There's an outside chance that team GB may still catch team USA..." No there is not. I'd hope that most (intelligent) US citizens would be pleased with their position on the medal table, they've run China (who had more resources at their disposal) a close second all things considered. In some ways the Robot and the games are very similar, a lot of time and effort went into something that could have been a woeful flop. I'm pretty proud of what 'us' Brits managed to achieve here(for once). I'm also impressed that the Mars Rover pulled off its Thunderbirds landing technique. The mars rover *is* quite something. Sincerely, well done USA. ..and will the real winner of the medal table please stand up...

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 1:22:48 PM I've been sitting here playing in a social on-line game and watching the movie, "The Right Stuff." I'm stressing about some trivial in-game conflicts and thinking, here's a movie that's a true story about men doing something worthwhile and heroic and I'm getting all stressed over a game in a virtual world. Try to remember what's important and what's just a game. |

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 11:21:18 AM What's so bad about winning medals and landing a rover on mars at the same time? Cheers for science! |

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 10:43:50 AM Exploring mars has nothing to do with athletics.. The only gold medal I give a crap about is mens basketball. |

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 9:53:51 AM @Bantangoo: Oh I agree that the picture itself is stupid and unjustly negates the accomplishments of the Chinese. I was merely pointing of that so many people of other countries were attacking all Americans as a result of this photo - which is just as unjust. |

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 9:20:12 AM @ HumanAction: this is an infantile picture. it says: of course we don't win the olympic games but we land on mars. it compares the apples with the pears in this way the europe could say: we don't win the olympic games but we created the renaissance. and the middle est: we don't win the olympic games but we created the neolithic revolution. ecc. this is stupid. |

Tuesday, August 07, 2012 8:25:24 AM "who gives a fcuk about a robot on mars?" "this post is so embarassing!" "I think they're probably still too busy counting just how much money the US is debt to them to care. Wasn't it over $1.2 trillion at last count?" "Bremir yes i've noticed too this behavior, and is the most antiolympic thing to do." "Only in America will you find people jump at the opportunity to put down other peoples accomplishments if they're doing better than Americans." You Europeans sure are a hateful bunch... See? We can all look at outliers and pretend they are norm. |

Monday, August 06, 2012 10:38:38 PM The Wonka meme has jumped the shark. In a year or two, nobody will remember much about the Olympics. In the US they'll remember Phelps and the Fab Five. The rest won't matter, so who cares who got how many medals. |
