Saturday, August 04, 2012 2:59:25 AM I know people (ahem) who've drawn penises when digitally signing for goods, then rung up to confirm who received it. |

Friday, August 03, 2012 11:16:31 PM the signature is only important when filing a dispute. if you have a track record of just scribbling, its hard to dispute when the card is stolen and there is just scribble. on the flip, if you're a scribbler and someone tries to use your card and actually attempts to sign your name... and cashiers aren't supposed to check the signature, their responsibility is to check the ID to make sure its your card when doing credit. debit is much harder to know the person's pin, so not checking for debit transactions is more ok. |

Friday, August 03, 2012 5:32:28 PM I sometimes draw tanks shooting air planes when I see they don't have a monitor that shows the signature box. |

Friday, August 03, 2012 4:41:59 PM "This ain't actually true. It's just that very few people actually set up digital signature verification." I see it at nearly every store I shop at. |

Friday, August 03, 2012 3:51:06 PM I always sign when I use a credit card--though I haven't used my name in probably 3 years. I've used Fred, Harry, Chami, George, Edward, Alphonse...and quite a few more... |

Friday, August 03, 2012 1:41:42 PM When I was working register I got complimented for actually bothering to check the signature. I also caught two people using credit cards that obviously weren't theirs. ("It's my girlfriend's, OK? We have a joint checking account." "How do I know that's true, sir?" "She's across the street. Do you want me to go get her?!?" "Yes, please." "Uh... Her hip's broken, you want me to force her to walk on that?" "Well, if you want to use that card, then yes, you'll have to." The guy left and later came back to show me he had her driver's license too, as though that proved something. I wanted to say, "Congratulations, sir, I see you've stolen her WHOLE wallet.") That being said, the vast majority of people don't even bother to sign their credit cards, even though unsigned CCs aren't valid (check the back of your CC). Writing "See ID" isn't valid either, and CC companies discourage it. |

Friday, August 03, 2012 1:23:14 PM No sh*t, most people I know just scribble a random wavy line and then hit the "ok" button.
