Tuesday, July 31, 2012 9:02:42 AM It is clear that the officer asks a few times why are you moving do you have something on you. So it is clear the kid is not complying 100%. I may not know everything but i know you dont move while a officer pats you down. Any movement while in a position like that they cant 100% perceive if its a threat to them or a twitch reaction that you did on accident. Then you can see the officer pull the kid back a bit and the kid had hold of the poster. Every arrest i have seen they want your hands open and not holding onto anything(gives you leverage to do any number of things) and this kid was clearly holding onto the poster. And from then on the kid was ating like a idiot saying i am not resisting but the pure of act of saying he is not resisting and not putting his arms back is the act As with others i dont 100% trust cops because there are bad eggs but in this case the cop was justified. Also the kid didnt get hurt. It wasnt like the cop did a pile driver on the kid. It was a body thr |

Monday, July 30, 2012 11:19:19 PM I'd bet a fiver the kid mouthed off about the cops getting thrills groping people or similar. Then he hung onto the poster frame instead of putting his hands behind his back. Big deal. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 9:13:51 PM It's a kid, probably never been frisked. Freaked out, cop over reacted. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 7:18:39 PM While I do think the cop used more force than was called for, I saw no 'body slam'. I did see a couple of judo type throws. From the way the cop frisked the kid, and how he acted while trying to walk the kid out of there, I can only assume he ranked near the bottom of his class at the academy. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 6:45:02 PM Just before the slam, the cop is holding the teen's upper arms and seems to be attempting to pull them down (at 0.43). We can't hear what might have been said at this stage. Perhaps the cop was saying "put your hands behind your back" and was attempting to move his arms accordingly, and the teen was resisting moving his arms down as instructed? If true, I don't know whether the following actions are justified. I don't know what the rules are there. As always, the video does not tell us everything we need to know to judge. |

@ Cartunze - I don't recall the specific comments, but I don't doubt I may have said it was okay for a cop to shoot you. Sometimes, it is necessary. I don't think every cop shooting is a "rogue cop" or a hate crime. Some are legitemate. But that doesn't make me trust them. They aren't there to protect me, they're there to keep the peace - aparently at any cost. If I am in the way I have no doubt they will walk right over me to "keep the peace". |

Monday, July 30, 2012 8:04:50 AM Cops are supposed to "protect and serve" Not enforce their will on people. I don't want to hear about how tough the job is. If you don't have the right temperament, you should not have the job. Not everyone is cut out for this or any other job. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 7:57:04 AM patchouly: You're right that police officers have a tough job and are, at least, underappreciated. This kid wasn't endangering anyone, though. While he may have been saying something to piss off the officer, the officer's response was abusive. He has a duty not only to protect the public but, also, to meet a higher standard in doing so than those from whom he protects us. If nothing else, this is the kind of act that people point to as their excuse for hating the police. (Note that I say it's the excuse, not the reason!) |

Monday, July 30, 2012 7:09:58 AM I agree with briandarf. That kids pants were lower than the recommendatory limit. This means the gap between the top of the socks and the bottom of the pants is also too small. It's a double fashion-felony. Take him in! Use as much force as necessary to apprehend this dangerously dressed person. Make an example of hi... ohhh I can't be bothered any more. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 7:09:14 AM Boo hoo. The kid did something wrong and got thrown to the ground. Cops have a hard job protecting you. Imagine how crappy it would be to know that you risk your life, on a daily basis to help keep people safe, and they all hated you for it. The problem isn't the cops, it's the folks who get pissed off because they are forced to follow the rules. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 7:01:34 AM Looked like the kid got tickled or something from the search. Since there's no good audio I don't know what to make of it. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 6:05:31 AM Gerry1of1 the cop is the first that force the kid to hold the picture frame, if you notice at beginning is the cop that force the arms of the kid on the wall, then suddenly he grab him and trow him at the ground. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 6:03:03 AM TKD_Master "They want to go home to their family at the end of the night". BS, first of all we don't know if this pig in blue uniform have a family and second lot of police men are frustrated low step in the human kind that probably have been beaten at school and they just want some kind of revenge. I allready immagine this cop making waves of himself in front of his collegues while Suzy Lee is serving to him a donut at the pub. |

Monday, July 30, 2012 6:02:06 AM The cop was scared.. Look at his twitching while the guy is perfectly still. Then he seacrhed him, the guy gets a reaction to something the cop did (accidental pinch, what ever it was) and doesn't take his hands off the wall (not a threat IMHO) get bodyslammed, tried to get back up, putting both hands on the wall and gets slammed again... Looks like rookie cop, scared pooless, over-reacting to a tiny teen. I mean, the kid is right-hand-behind-my-back material.. |
