old news but whatever,
what happend here was that the minister in question was invited as an honorary guest to cut the cake, it was during something like a fundraiser against circumcision of women by an idealistic organisation. any way the minister accepted and didnt know what the cake looked like untill she saw it. she later publicly admitted that she was ashamed of having participaded in that event but had felt that she couldnt just leave when she was there |

@Listypoos: that sounds like "defending it" (the cake, not FGM obviously) to me! To claim it has ANY "validity" as a form of protest is OBSCENE. That is explained in the article link, which you may or may not have read by now.

Please show me in my post where I defended either the practice of female circumcision or the concept of highlighting the practive via the cake idea.
I didn't express an opinion on either... I merely stated what the cake thing was about so it's a bit rich that your second post complains about people not bothering to read something properly.
