@nottaspy, exactly ! There should be a should be scientific study of why we have the God 'sense' as you call it.
With very few exceptions all cultures do have the 'Super power' overseeing life. Why is that? Me thinks it's our mammalian.brain design. As an infantyolks are wired to cry for help which is answered. We are taken care of & that part of. lOur developed brain is then happy to replace parent with 'God'. In our adulthood.
This does not mean an external exisitance of God.

sutra46, more than that! It should be enough proof of our flawed senses and the brain's deliberate misrepresentation of the world for the faithful to question exactly how they sense God's presence.
Flawed senses: We do not see what is there (the capillaries).
Deliberate misrepresentation: We see what is not there (the brain fills in the blind spot).
Without a "sense" of God, religion is nothing more than a fairytale. If the brain is manufacturing that God sense, which brain studies have shown to be true, then... |

Make a little hole with your forefinger and hold it right up to your eye so you are looking through it. Look at a white screen and move it around in a circle. It happens pretty quickly. |

That first panel he did about the blind spot should be exhibit A for the creationist who believe that anything as perfect as an eye has to be designed.
It's not perfect just a work in progress. |

Long story short - a small trick to see the capilaries that lay in front of your light receptors in your eye.
COOL - I could see the network of capilaries in my eye that are always there in my vision yet are filtered out by my brain. Little branches of capilaries, neato. |
