Although this is cute it is NOT a possum but an opossum.Possums are Phalangeridae and Opossums belong to the order Didelphimorphia.They are both marsupials but Opossums are found only in North America.Possums are found in New Guinea,Australia and Australia and Indonesia. The brush-tailed possum was introduced into New Zealand. Possums are quite beautiful and do not look at all like an Opossum ! |
