Saturday, July 28, 2012 7:01:21 AM The company owners have a right to their beliefs but not a right to inflict them on their staff and patrons. Replace the word "gays" with "blacks" or "women" and that's how they'll have sounded in 20 years' time. |

Saturday, July 28, 2012 12:01:10 AM @jamie76 Male, 30-39, Western US I would like to be excluded from the group you refer to as "most Americans". Although I too work hard for my money, I don't think it's right to punish this company based on their beliefs. Beliefs they have a RIGHT to have. I for one, will continue to patronize Chic-Fil-A. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 11:35:00 PM Absolutely insane that this story is in national spotlight.... even my local University (K-State) is in it. TO TREAT AN AMERICAN BUSINESS THAT SERVES GOOD FOOD AND EMPLOYS HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS..... LIKE THIS SIMPLY BECAUSE A FEW "OWNERS WON'T BOW DOWN TO THE HOMOSEXUAL MONSTERS OUT THERE FORCING US TO ACCEPT THEIR SICK WAY OF LIFE IS ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL AND WRONG !!! GO BE GAY ALL YOU WANT, STOP FORCING IT DOWN OUR THROATS !!" FartCommander, I can tell by your impressive command of the English language and your screen name, which I may add exudes class, that you have many thoughtful and insightful things to add to any public debate. if I may though, I, like most Americans work very hard for my money and when sound windbag comes along and throws a side of bigoted bible thumbing in with my chicken order, I have to be honest, I am not only going to not eat there but I will forcefully reject their bigoted ways. |

I wise man once said, "When in doubt, switch a variable." To apply that theory to Chic-Fil-A, if you think what they're doing is okay then switch it out. What if they gave their money to deny someone elses civil liberties. Say donating money to prevent blacks from voting. Would you still say they have a right to that opinion and anyone against it is "a hater" ? |

Friday, July 27, 2012 8:35:00 PM bassman56: Oh, c'mon; you have to admit it's pretty stupid for a guy running a company that relies largely on public goodwill to make a mean-spirited, Bible-thumping "policy statement" on behalf of that firm. Unless it's a real motherhood issue ("Proud to be American"), a company has no right to speak on behalf of all its employees. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 8:22:47 PM Yeah, let's put 'em out of business, what were they thinking, having an opinion *that went against the opinions of many people in America, therefor inviting the wrath of free market principles such as dollar democracy upon themselves*? Fixed that for ya. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 7:45:42 PM Yeah, let's put 'em out of business, what were they thinking, having an opinion and all that? I think all businesses should swear allegiance to gay marriage or be put out of business. That seems fair. |

On the plus side, this is the most positive coverage Chick-fil-A has enjoyed all week; so, you know, nice job there Mr PR guy. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 2:54:25 PM FartCommandr "Forcing it down our throats"? Is this a parody? How does two people quietly getting married in their own private ceremony shove anything down your throat? Did you think all gay marriages were going to be in your living room? |

Friday, July 27, 2012 2:52:40 PM frnttrndy "The man will be remembered for his integrity of his faith. Thank God for people who are not afraid to go against the grain for what is right" Well I don't know his personal beliefs but if they are in line with the company, this is just one more bigot off the list. How old are you? 50-59 huh? Guess we'll get to check another one off soon. Once all the old bigots are dead we can start loving our fellow man like Christians are supposed to. |
