Saturday, July 28, 2012 6:56:44 PM Yeah, Larry Elder was reporting that while this was very interesting, Iran is nevertheless permitted to participate in the games even as a whole NATION, they cite their refusal to compete against Jewish athletes as a great source of pride for them. Go figure. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 6:46:05 AM I think people are reacting to the "at least" part of the sentence. It implies that African immigrants are bad and that their only benefit is to provide mosquitoes with familiar food. However, I think "at least" is starting to gain some prominence in the English language as a contextually-meaningless filler phrase, such as "I'm going to go ahead and...," or "like." I doubt that overt racism was intended in this tweet, but I can see how some people might think so. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 1:10:36 AM Beardofzeus "she was openly supportive of racist right-wing politicians" I think you'll find they are either left-wing, or neither left nor right. So would you say that any US competitor who openly supports Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson or the NBPP or any other hard-left racist politicians should be banned from the Olympics? |

Friday, July 27, 2012 1:06:18 AM Fools Prussia What hostility? If you see hostility in that then you are way over-sensitive. And also an idiot. |

Friday, July 27, 2012 1:04:50 AM It wasn't a racist tweet. Why do the titles on this site so often contain ridiculous interpretations - Chik-a-fil's president's words are anti-gay, this tweet was racist etc.? It was a tweet that suggested she might be racist, I agree. However the tweet in itself did not say anything against African immigrants. It simply said that there are many in Greece. |

Thursday, July 26, 2012 5:26:31 PM Tasteless yes...but who is the olympic committee to decide what cultural beliefs are allowed to be present at the world games? (well...you know lol). Years of ambition and training up in smoke over something so insignificant. (to be fair though it was pretty hateful over funny). brackets! |

Thursday, July 26, 2012 4:15:13 PM She was referring to the African immigrants in Greece, that have nothing to do with the Olympics. And it was just a joke. I'm sure she knows that Africa is a continent, as the Nile river flows through about ten different African countries. And the West Nile virus originated in Uganda, which is in Africa, in the West Nile region. Too bad whoever posted this article doesn't know any of this. |

Thursday, July 26, 2012 3:09:45 PM You know, it's CALLED the West Nile virus. It might as well be called "the African virus." Can it really be racist if it's factual? |
