she was clearly in violation of a court order not to speak publicly about the case.
She was never party to the agreement, and I don't think the judge had the legal authority to strip her of her 1st Amendment right to free speech. I think he knew he was in the wrong, and when she called his bluff, he backed off. |

It's Kentfcukingucky I bet there is a pattern of these cases where some 'dickthethird' gets away for raping girls.
The girl got raped and the two boys boasted about it brazenly for months. No remorse or apology. Girl then reported them and put her trust in the legal system that basically nullified her rape with a plea bargain.
She didn't know about the plea bargain. She did the only thing within her power.
The boys should have the case on their permanent record.
Don't care if it's 'assault or rape' |

I can understand why you'd want more info, esp about the nature of the crime, but on the other hand, if someone posted/shared pics of me in a compromising situation, that would be twice the rape/assault. it's not just the humiliation of bieng violated by the perps, but also the fact that people have been told and shown what has been done to you. Try holding your head high after that :/
i think she did the right thing, and i hope she feels empowerd by the fact that she took that action. |

The boys had already taken pictures and shared them- as far as I'm concerned they already gave up their rights to privacy. While she may not have the "right" to speak about the court case, she has every right to speak about what was done to her and the content of the pictures the boys had already shared. So she can't say what happened in the courtroom. But should she be punished for speaking about something that happened prior to the issues in court? The judge was just covering for his own lenient ass, he probably sympathized with the boys because he f*cked a passed-out teenager once or twice in his youth. |

It'd be worth it. If I was raped (thinking as a woman) - I'd shout it to the world no matter what I was told. Those boys deserve to be exposed, shot, castrated, whatever and if that meant suffering a little jail time, so be it.

Need more info. What was this sexual assault? Just the pictures or did they bang her up the bung hole. Obviously differant acts require harsher punishments. What was this "slap on the wrist" ? They haven't even been sentanced yet.
No, she jumped the gun, but who could blame her. I'm guessing the judge will not punish her for this and let's face it, the other people in that town need warned against those boys. |
