i don't get it, it wouldn't hurt a woman because they don't have nuts. I guess we're supposed to overlook that?
It wouldn't hurt a woman *as much*. Not even very close to as much because, as you rightly point out, she won't have any testicles there. As Draculya pointed out, the closest equivalent would require reaching inside her and punching (or kicking, i.e. the same degree of force) both her ovaries directly.
It would still hurt, though. Nowhere near as much, but probably enough to make her fold over and stagger.
We're supposed to overlook the large difference in the degree of pain and injury, but the reason why the cartoon still works as a cartoon is the prevailing sexism in our society - harm to a woman is seen as being far more serious than far greater harm to a man because our societies value women far more than men. So even a partial reversal of that prevailing sexism stands out enough for a cartoon. |
