Monday, July 23, 2012 5:13:31 AM Could we rein in the racism a little? The British are idiots and the Americans are idiots. It would be an act of idiocy to constantly restate this- oh. I see. |

Sunday, July 22, 2012 3:36:26 PM found it more disturbing that out of all those people only one tried to do anything to help her including dash cam man who until the guy got out was continually creeping up on her. It did not take two people to help her out it took only one. Besides would cynics prefer if some horrific case of traffic congestion be attributed to ONE old lady? Give me a break. |

Sunday, July 22, 2012 3:34:08 PM And really, it was nice to see, and was refreshing even if it was just one man doing what many others should have already been decent enough to do. |

Sunday, July 22, 2012 3:32:48 PM I hate to be a MacGuffin but I, too, found it more disturbing that out of all those people only one tried to do anything to help her including dash cam man who until the guy got out was continually creeping up on her. Of course I am not bigoted enough to turn it into some kind of "North American" issue. For example I read an article where a man fed a homeless old woman in an Asian country and everyone was focusing on what a great deed he had done and no one was paying attention to the fact that the countries attitude toward the poor had to be so poor for this act of kindness to stand out so much. All the same I didn't see any MacGuffins trolling around in the forums insisting on what a failed Asian attitude it was to commend one man on what everyone should be more apt to do. It certainly makes me think it's not based on your skin color or where you are from. |

Sunday, July 22, 2012 2:10:13 PM Well I thought that was small but nice thing, no matter what MacSandVagina has to say about it. @LordJim: Doesn't work like that everywhere. I got hit by a car in France thinking I had right of way on a zebra crossing. Turns out they see it as "Drive Faster". |

Sunday, July 22, 2012 1:27:41 PM Shipman had a Blue Peter baddge? Really? Damn, that's wrong on so many levels. Anyway, she was on the crossing. Here in UK if someone is actually on the crossing when the lights change they still have priority. I don't know how that works in the US but I would imagine it would be the same. Because it's obvious; don't drive over a crossing when someone is on it, whatever the bloody light says. If so, then every bastard who drove over that crossing committed an offence. Hope they get tickets. |

I am a jaded old bastard but even I can accept that once in a while someone does something nice. Not often, but sometimes. Yeah. Pablo Escobar built football stadiums, and Harold Shipman had a Blue Peter badge. You keep on seeing that silver lining, big guy. |

MacGuffin "A guy *had to* help an old lady" No he didn't. He could have changed lanes and gone around her. But instead, he got out and helped her. I am a jaded old bastard but even I can accept that once in a while someone does something nice. Not often, but sometimes.

MacGuffin...we can always trust you to see the negative side. A guy helped a little old lady, is that really so hard for your dry, hardened cold heart to believe? Only a North American could think that drivers screaming through a pedestrian crossing as an old lady was trying to cross was somehow actually a positive thing. A guy *had to* help an old lady do something that she should have been able to do easily on her own, but was unable to because of the vast majority of selfish bastards around her; is that really so hard for your selfish, parochial, blinkered American heart to perceive?
