I'm a video gamer, but I don't respect video gaming as a talent since very, very little of it applies to life in the real world. "Judge me on my ability to pwn a noob" really translates to "judge me on my ability to sit on my ass and press keys really quick". Good for you; you can type. So can secretaries. I'm a lady gamer and I really wanted to like this video.....nope. The crap they're bitching about doesn't actually happen when you're a real gamer. If you act like one of the boys you get treated like one of the boys. Simple as that. Yes people say dumb crap as a joke but they fully expect that you'll dish it right back. |

Isn't that what this video is trying to stop? Sure, there are levels, but for the most part someone who is trash talking you will find a nerve and if you're a girl, it's easiest to pick on some subtle sexualized stereotypes to get a rise out of someone.
Not necessarily the behavior of an actual sexist, rather someone being cheap, same applies to picking on someone due to their age old/young or speech impediment. |

I agree that gamer girls are my equals however... when I yell at them for being on their period or for being a weak little woman, it's for the same reason I insult and slander the men... to psych them out, troll them, push their buttons, etc.

astoundingly... I quite enjoyed that. It's a nice ideal that gamers are somehow better people than the average human dip$hit. Logically though.. if something like this needs to be said then it's evidence that gamers are even bigger a$$hats than the average male in the population.

YANK, what trash talk? Are you referring when they said they could talk trash? Talking trash doesn't have to include remarks that specifically target your gender. Telling a female gamer that she sucks when they mess up in game is one thing, but it's something else entirely when you're only trash talking them because they are a female. I'm fairly certain that is the point to the whole video. Stop targeting female players because they are female players. Why is it so wrong of them to ask for that? |
