Saturday, July 28, 2012 3:27:43 PM I don't understand how anyone can believe in a god who tells us all to be forgiving but is petulant enough to damn us to never ending torture because we had the temerity not to worship him. And, if you decide to believe in him, how can you claim he is all loving and benevolent? If there is an all powerful creator, the world around us is clearly be the work of a sadistic, judgemental, egotistical maniac or a moron. I could understand the concept of a powerful creator who's a bit of a dick (like the Norse and Roman gods, always bickering and waring) or a creator who isn't all powerful or all knowing but is doing his best for us. The idea of an all powerful, benevolent creator is clearly ridiculous.

Saturday, July 28, 2012 3:16:17 PM Smiley, Yes I do hate it when Faith healers bilk money out of believers by making them think prayer heals when there is no rational reason to think it does, or they don't get proper medical help for children because it is 'god's will' whither they live or die. Or they teach children satan is real and he is coming to steal their soul and they will burn in a lake of fire for eternity, it is child abuse. Or when they don't like someone or something (Barney, Tele Tubbies, Smurfs) and equate them to devil worship. Or when they blame natural disasters or tragedies as their gods judgment on the nation for the "sins" of homosexuality, atheism or anything else they don't like. Yep, no reason at all to ridicule these nutbags. |

Saturday, July 28, 2012 2:47:29 PM For no reason at all? There is an obvious reason to ridicule people like this: what they believe is clearly ridiculous. Faith: Deciding to believe something with no evidence whatsoever because someone told you to when you were little and it makes you feel safe. |

Saturday, July 28, 2012 2:41:46 PM And more fuel by/for the haters so that they can keep hating on the faithful, for no reason at all. They can try all they like, but haters will never win, because the future is governed by love, and God is love. |

Saturday, July 28, 2012 2:02:29 PM lol at the 'knows every numbered hair on everyone's head' comment. It's funny what 'facts' religious people make up that aren't even supported anywhere in their bibles nevermind in reality. |

Saturday, July 28, 2012 1:51:01 PM 1: God has a plan 2: You pray to ask him for something So: A) God changes his plan for you OR B) It was always in the plan If A then it obviously wasn't a perfect plan - hey even God doesn't get everything right first time, nobody's perfect... hmmmm wait... If B then what is the point of praying? |
