So the bishop really believes praying can influence something. Then why the drat isn't he asking people to pray for say a cure for cancer. I guess good bbq weather is more important than peoples lives. |

Praying to god to actually do (or stop doing) something always struck me as odd. Presumably he has a plan and knows what he wants. Thinking your two-penneth matters shows a lack of humility. |

The only thing that is archaic, fancylad, is the constant belittling of people who choose faith in deity instead of faith in the perceptible. We all have an epistemological problem in that we must trust one thing or another: deity, humanity, that which can be experienced.
