Friday, July 13, 2012 10:56:22 AM This law doesn't ban anything. It's just to make people second guess how many gallons of sugar they need to drink with one meal, and if they decide the answer to that question is "lots of gallons" they can go ahead and get another. Or the free refill. Anyone who thinks this is an attack on their freedoms really needs a perspective check. |

Thursday, July 12, 2012 11:18:34 PM Last I checked the U.S. was a country of freedoms. It's someone's choice to have a large soda. |

Thursday, July 12, 2012 5:32:33 AM I remember one time my wife's brother and his wife took us to a Wendy's and we ordered a "medium" sized drink each, only to be presented with a monstrous cup, all the while they ordered a "big" each, finding a gigantic plastic cup delivered through the window.
Original article in NPR I'm completely for freedom of choice, but when your choices are between: "huge", "gigantic" and "brobdingnagian", the whole "freedom" argument goes to hell doesn't it? Kind of like during every election time: choose between a giant douche or a turd sandwich. |

Wednesday, July 11, 2012 8:03:52 AM I'm so glad our country is focusing on flabby arms- over weight people in general- instead of, say, REAL ISSUES Last time I checked heart disease was the number one cause of death in the US. Not saying this law will really do anything for that, but overweight people in your country ARE a big issue (no pun intended, happy coincidence ) |

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 11:52:42 PM When the Nazis came for my Big Gulp, I did not speak out... Was IAB sold to a corporation and now people just take turns being Fancylad? @markust I know you're not speaking to me but... When I read that, my eyes nearly POPPED OUT of my skull: change "being" into "doing" and you'll see why... |

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 11:36:27 PM I think IAB is actively trolling it's own members now. Floppy woman arms are caused by soda. DERP! no woman had flabby arms till soda came along. Right? Thank goodness Bloomberg came along along to save us from the flood of flabby feminine flaps. |

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 10:37:06 PM If the government manages your health care, law enforcement, rehabilitation, disability payments, low-income dental plans, etc., it, like any other insurance company, will want to limit its pay-outs. It's the trade off for a taste of socialism. Most people don't mind seat-belt laws and machine gun restrictions because of the overall benefits in lowering death and injury rates. One day, 32-oz. Big Gulps will be looked back upon with horror, the way we do the days of omnipresent smoking. |

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 9:32:12 PM Sodas, cigarettes, seatbelts... it's only a matter of time before the government is able to come into your house and make whatever changes THEY deem necessary. Apparently we're a free nation - but "Big Brother" needs to make free choices for us. |

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 5:16:15 PM those look more like arms that have lost some weight, but maybe it's age, either way people should be allowed to do what they want to themselves. |

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 4:50:02 PM All the people saying there is more pressing issues makes me think Bloomberg is just drawing attention away from those topics with something stupid. "Hey look over here, no no, not that, the soda, look at the soda" |
