5Cats... The leek is Miku's fan chosen food item, though I'm not sure if it's because of her hair or the Loituma video, to be honest. All the other Vocaloids have one as well. Gackpoid's is an eggplant (because he's purple, though I think there was another factor that I'm forgetting), Rin's is an orange (because of... Well, I'm not sure I get this one either, to be honest. I think it has to do with her tie?), Len's is a banana (because of his hair), etc.
Vocaloid fans can get weird with the characters, especially with them being essentially copyright free.
Some of the songs are pretty good, but I just can't make myself enjoy most of their voices. I honestly prefer listening to cover versions by real singers.

I cannot STAND Vocaloid voices...
Except Gackpoid, but that's because he's based on Gackt, and Gackt is amazing.
I lol'ed, REALLY hard, when it was like "so basically... We stuck a Kinect to the glasses, and it looks like this!" Imagine the dude wandering around that park with that thing strapped to his face. Priceless, lol.
Still... It's pretty cool on a technical level, pretty sad use for it, but honestly... I wish I was further along in my Japanese studies so I could actually understand more of that video, because I want to know how exactly they did it. |
