I'm not really sure what higgs boson is. On the other hand, you can't so much as leave a supermarket without seeing the names of the kardashians splattered all over magazines.
Well, now I have some idea what higgs-boson is, because I just went and looked it up. I knew it would come from physics though, because those interested in such seem to always be the ones who go around regurgitating whatever terms they think will elicit blank stares, then acting like they're astonished anyone could not be aware of such a thing.
They fool themselves into believing no, people aren't unfamiliar with physics because perhaps lots of them find it bland and prefer other subjects, they're unfamiliar because they've tried so hard to understand, but simply aren't intellectually inclined enough!
I've suddenly grown tired of typing. My point is that the above simply seems obnoxious. Sorry that the world doesn't revolve around what any one person believes matters. |

That's the thing about pop culture. It's popular. You can statistically expect people to have heard about it.
The Higgs-Boson particle is a scientific concept that is difficult for the layman to understand.
As much as I agree with the sentiment, can we get off our high horses and at the very least make fair observations? |
