Saturday, July 07, 2012 7:10:46 PM I get that some people have no idea what they're dong with computers, but to call THAT Computer Science is just absurd. It's like claiming a book about throwing frisbees is "Aerodynamics". |

Saturday, July 07, 2012 7:25:14 AM Manga for Dummies... it exists! Hentai for Dummies... amazingly does not! lolz! It's true, these books are intended for the absolute beginners, not "rocket surgeons" like every IABer seems to be. <proverb> What is more foolish: to ask a stupid question or to remain silently ignorent? <proverb> |

Friday, July 06, 2012 11:41:26 PM <old joke> There are no stupid questions, but there are plenty of inquisitive idiots. </old joke> I've no clue about the mechanics of using Facebook myself, since I don't use it and I've no desire to. And I'm only vaguely aware of some of the other topics like Spotify and Pinterest too. When I was just starting out my company some years ago, to get some cash flow I used to supplement my income by teaching a basic computer skills course to complete novices of all ages that had no idea about technology. You'd tell them to move the mouse over to the left of the screen, and they'd physically pick it up off the desk and place it on the left hand side of their keyboard. There's a difference between being merely without knowledge, and being actually dumb. Most of them weren't stupid people, they just didn't have some basic knowledge they were going to need yet. |

Friday, July 06, 2012 9:14:28 PM With so many people can't spell their own names these books must sell really well. I, on the other hand, am self taught from Dos 1 to Win 8. Didn't need no book for dummies . . . |

Friday, July 06, 2012 12:44:49 PM Wordpress can get really in-depth. You can build full custom sites on top of it turning it into a content management system. Replace that with "Farmville for Dummies", which exists. |
