Damnit, I knew I shouldn't have introduced that tesseract into the forum the other day. Its spacey-wacey, timey-wimey weirdness has fecked up IAB's spacetime continuum. |

Saturday, July 07, 2012 8:50:11 AM I think it is a fetish thing. Hey, nothing wrong with a bit of BDSM, my friend. I think it's because they *don't* get laid often enough that they have these kind of problems. |

Saturday, July 07, 2012 8:31:29 AM There is no point in arguing with the 'Cops can do no wrong' fanboys here. Once you have been handcuffed, hog-tied, tazered and beaten then if a dozen cops continue to stomp on you it's entirely down to you having a bad attitude. If your home is destroyed by cops while empty it is your fault for having a relative who has been accused of a petty crime (although not arrested or charged). I think it is a fetish thing. |

PS: extra tin foil points for trying to suggest that this situation is in any way analogous to one where a rapist is lying in wait in someone's home, when in reality this was merely a petty criminal that presented no threat to the house's owner whatsoever and who furthermore wasn't even home.

Friday, July 06, 2012 11:51:10 PM "Cop #1: Okay. We think he's in there, but the door is shut. Cop #2: drat it. Nothing we can do. Let's go home people. (Later. The person who lives there gets home, and is raped and killed.) No, of course you're right, aj. Clearly there is no alternative to standing outside taking potshots for four hours, or going home. Those are the only two options, obviously. It's not as if they could do their actual jobs they're meant to be trained for, and use sound/video/thermal detection to determine the actual status of the residence before clearing the house or anything. It's not as if using surveillance and acting on intelligence were an option. That would just be too sensible.

Friday, July 06, 2012 11:32:56 PM Scenario #2! Cop #1: Okay, we think he's in there. Cop #2: Let's wait for a warrant. (1 hour later, after the assailant has fortified his position.) Cop #1: Here we go! Advance! (breaks down door, and is shot in face, dying. Leaves behind a wife and 3 kids.) Cop #2: I guess we should have gassed the place first, and waited to see if it flushed him out. |

Even attempting to justify your country's poor behaviour under present discussion on the grounds that (you perceive) other countries behave badly too is asinine in the extreme. It's the way that five year olds attempt to justify their poor behaviour ("but other kids are misbehaving too!"). It's sad to see grown adults trotting out that tired and weak BS time and time again to justify your country's failings. Weak sauce. |

Friday, July 06, 2012 11:18:24 PM >>>To all of you Europeans making comments about things here in the states; when you can control your tards over there at their "football" matches, you can speak out about stuff over here.<<< Oh look, there it is again. In every single thread where American service personnel or police get validly criticised for their abuses of civilians of other countries abroad or American civilians at home, there's at least one dumb individual that tries to mitigate that valid criticism of American society's behaviour by criticising Europe/Asia/Martians in return. That particular fallacy has only been covered a few thousand times now, dear boy, but, once again, just for you: ad hominem tu quoque. ...

Friday, July 06, 2012 11:15:36 PM I think the lady is getting the run around from the city. They should be ashamed. My problem, is all the cop hate. They did nothing wrong, and it isn't their responsibility to pay her back, or rebuild her house. It's the city's responsibility. Actually, shooting up someone's house is plenty wrong. Whether or not other cops in your home town are just as thuggish and stupid is a moot point. Nobody should be going through BS like this at the hands of any police force. You've long since stopped being a nation that has police/prisons in the traditional sense of forces that provides a stabilising and proportionate element to society. They're now more of an internal ministry of state security, that often use tactics more appropriate for war zones, to keep an increasingly-brutalised civilian population in line. It's worrying that some of you have come to think of that level of violence by the state towards civilians as perfectly normal. |

Friday, July 06, 2012 10:57:53 PM Okay. Recently, there was a shooting in my state. More specifically, Auburn. There was a tip that the shooter, who was at large, was holed up in a house. 50-11 cops showed up, and surrounded the house. They tear gassed it. They infiltrated it. They searched it. They thought they had him pinned in the attic. They breached the attic, and he was not there. This took 11 hours. They move very carefully, protecting the lives of everyone involved, including the perpetrator. I think the lady is getting the run around from the city. They should be ashamed. My problem, is all the cop hate. They did nothing wrong, and it isn't their responsibility to pay her back, or rebuild her house. It's the city's responsibility. She probably complained like "Oh no muhfudgeka! You fix mah house now gad daimmit!" and the city employee said. "Okay. No. Come back later." She then called the news. "Im'ma get mah munney!" |

Friday, July 06, 2012 6:33:07 PM Stop making excuses for SWAT goofing off. FOUR HOURS. This wasn't some crazy terrorist son they were hunting, this was them having a good time at the taxpayers (Hopefully the taxpayers will pay for this at some point.) expense. You DON'T sit in a house filled with tear gas for four hours while they continue to fill it with more. Furthermore, you don't send swat after an armed robbery. This was nothing more than SWAT being frakfaces wanting to justify their existence in a city of less than 100k. Really, Renton is around 100k strong and they call SWAT for armed robbery.... |
