Saturday, July 07, 2012 8:03:11 PM @McGovern1981 Well that's good logic. "It's okay guys! We might have killed innocent people but Sadam did it worser than us!" Flawless. |

Friday, July 06, 2012 3:33:26 PM I'll save my tears for their innocent victims . LOL! if you think that's bad your head would explode if you saw what Sadam did to his own people it's been well documented by the US and the UK. I suppose you don't want to see that though. |

Friday, July 06, 2012 1:17:38 PM And no, I never served in Afghanistan or in Iraq. I was a squaddie in the '90s, and most of my experience of working with Yanks comes from a laser target designator course I went on with them at that time. |

Friday, July 06, 2012 1:12:13 PM @MacGuffin Yes Afghanistan was a magical happy place that Al queda had no bases in what so ever! Of course you know that cause you served for da queenz! Keeping all us evil Americans in line overseas but wait that would mean you participated in these "evil" wars wouldn't it? The problem with sterotypical Europeans summarized right there.... The only reason that 'Al Qaeda' and their Taliban comrades were in Afghanistan at all, is that back when they were called the Mujahideen in the '80s and Ronnie Reagan wanted a way to boot the Russians out of Afghanistan, America supplied them with both money and weapons. America inflicted Osama Bin Laden on the Afghan people, then had the cheek to tear up their country to try and capture him once he had a foothold there and proved a problem for yourselves. ...

Friday, July 06, 2012 5:09:48 AM oh and thank you, thank you for showing that you fell comfortable to exercise your freedom of speech. By the way, i and others like me have been paying, with blood, for those rights you trample. ... There it is. The ridiculously self-entitled arrogance of the squaddie. Don't believe your own hype. You weren't fighting for anyone's freedom. Iraq and Afghanistan never invaded the US. Those are just the pretty lies that Bush and co told you to make you feel better about going out to terrorise the civilians of another country on his behalf. Soldiers are never so unhappy as when civilians use the very freedom they claim to be fighting for to criticise them. If you really were fighting for our freedom, you'd be only too happy that people were using it. In reality, the only reason people do have some small freedoms is because we stand up to liars like Bush and Obama, and the petty thugs like you that they get to do their dirty work for them. |

Thursday, July 05, 2012 11:37:34 PM So Agentdumbass, we do it for the money or the status? ok money first, i got a couple hundred dollars extra and they did not take taxes while i was over there. i was making less then 30k a year. more then i needed to live on but if it was "for the money" then it would not have been enough to let people try to kill me for two years. So that leaves "status", almost no one that i meet day to day knows that i even served. family, some friends and some co-workers know. to be honest i will quite often down play my past 'cas if they know then there are normally questions that i dont want to get into. i wanted to be a part of something bigger then myself, i wanted to do something with my life. and i feel that i have done that pretty well. oh and thank you, thank you for showing that you fell comfortable to exercise your freedom of speech. By the way, i and others like me have been paying, with blood, for those rights you trample. enjoy, and |

Thursday, July 05, 2012 10:20:53 PM I'm fairly anti-military, but even I can't help but smile at this. nettech98 - They meant hatred towards people they consider terrorists. |

Thursday, July 05, 2012 10:12:47 PM There is one thing that it seems that everyone is missing in this conversation. Most of the US Military helps out in many other ways. For example national disaster help not only in the US but on foreign soil. Also because of the American Military budget over the last 200 some odd years technology has accelerated at an amazing pace that would not be possible without military funding. Lastly, I don't think the Iraq/Afghani wars should have lasted this long but why aren't they justified? First there was 9/11 (I know nothing to go with Iraq), what were we supposed to do...just shrug it off an go "Oh Well!"? That is why we went to war in Agfhanistan (hot bed of Al-Qaeda activity). Then there was Iraq, what would you do if you saw some kid (Kurds) being bullied and the adult (UN) was watching it happen and you could do something about it? You would step in a help out. I know,"The US should wait for the UN to give permission" well that |

Thursday, July 05, 2012 6:56:42 PM No usually it has to do with people not being able to get a job in a broke economy. If your joining the military to give back to your community now a days, your doing the wrong thing. |

Thursday, July 05, 2012 6:54:39 PM "this "something" is "taking" from other countries" Really? Like we took all the oil in Iraq? Like we took all the territory we liberated? (Can any say Russia?) |

Thursday, July 05, 2012 6:18:14 PM Here's a joke: MacGuffin walks into a club (in Glasgow). An American comes up to her and says: "I'm a millionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht." MacGuffin thinks: Wow! All Americans must be millionaires with mansions and yachts! Then MacGuffin walks into a club (in a combat zone) (giving you the benefit of the doubt here) and a horny American Ranger comes up to her and says: "I'm a killer" MacGuffin thinks: "Wow! All American Soldiers must be rapists and murderers!" What's the punch line? There isn't one. GET IT??? |
