Anyone that thinks this finding has anything to do with god is very misguided.
Steelgrid, i heard that it was more of a decision by the publicist, (or whoever), to use the "god particle", since "Higgs Boson" really wouldnt have generate the same hype. Kinda like "Big Bang" in a sense. |

Steelgrid, back when the Higgs boson was almost purely hypothetical, they called it the God particle. Long before they actually discovered it. Hence the guy's using "Goddamn particle", it wouldn't have made much sense otherwise. |

This isnt about the bible. This is the media eating up a shortened version of the original name. People need something to use to explain how something could be smaller than an atom. When this little catchphrase was hinted, sensationalists just took off with it.
Give the theorists credit, it is the Higgs Boson, or use their original pet name for it, the "Goddamn Particle"....This god particle sh.it has been blown WAY out of proportion. |

Its funny that the news has blown up this whole "God Particle" thing when initially, it wasnt called that. The dude who wrote the proposal for the LHC didnt call it that, he actually titled the proposal, "The GODDAMN particle" because he has spent the better part of 30 years trying to locate it. |
