umm,is it me,or the fingers aren't that nimble on the riff?! he seems sluggish,somehow..i do NOT contest the skill,kuddos to him,hallelujah and all that..but still.. |

Good attempt, but i can't shake the feeling that he's playing too "stiffly". It gives the riffs the wrong vibe and more importantly it doesnt give off any real feeling as the riff had originally intended. |

vv @korahn I think he was trying to get the "technique" right, rather than play the song. I found his playing easier to "pick out" the riff than many origional versions.
Oh yeah, I'm totally a guitar expert! Or not! lmao So it's just MHO.

,@patchouly - I would never have noticed the guitar head in that picture if you hadn't said there was something guitar related there. It was like the shortest & smallest (what, 50x50px.?) game of Where's Waldo game ever, and I've seen that picture a good number of times. ...Wait, let me make that less creepy. I've been a member here for probably ~a year, but I lurked for probably around 8 years before joining - just never wanted to comment, just to view links, until recently-ish. I'm a guitarist as well (As you can see from my avatar). Spent 7 years on the road, taught for 3 years and now I run a guitar forum and also help out at Music Player Magazine's forums. Not that any of that is relative, but I thought I'd share seeing how there are a few of us here!
Anyway, regarding the video, I thought he did a great job. |

As yet another guitarist, I thought his tone throughout the video was pretty perfect. And I liked the song choices for the most part. I think there were a lot more bands he could have drawn from to represent the 2000's, however. |

I'm another guitarist, I-A-B has a few eh? I was impressed with his dedication and it made me go and listen to a few songs I haven't in a while which is always good. Some questionable choices in there - I don't think many people will be talking about Franz Ferdinand (the band that is, world wars tend to stick in the memory for a while) in 20 years time |

As another guitar player, I'd say it's closer to 60%. Some were in the wrong key, others were just bad voicings. (played in the wrong area of the neck) I was impressed that he actually knew the right way to play Smoke On the Water. Most just play the bar chords. |
