Oh, and my previous post isnt about usa bashing. the reason why the world was doing so well after the second world war was because the american banking system which recognized the reason of save banking and loaning out to the world. i am pretty sure that the people who orgastrated the marshall plan will have something to say about the current state of affairs of banks world wide. our economic system is used to turn to banks for security and controll. And it is the banking system that didn't uphold to that principle.
The greed of big corparations is what is burning the economic world.

Maxxim, the many european nations that have a ruined economy are basicly because of a banking economic crises. the banking crises started in the states though, and many european economies had problems at the moment the banks pulled out, more or less. Greece isnt only a banking problem though, in greece the politicians made a great mess of things.
but if you look for example to ireland, the problems there are because a lot was invested in buildings, a housing boom, that the banks not only financed but also encouraged. same with portugal and spain. But the banking crises started and they started pulling money out of those countries. Money that they shouldnt have loaned to the countries now became a liability. To the point where countries had to bail out banks to prevent their colapse.

Basicly, the economic crisis in europe is a result of european governments bailing out banks and trying to keep the system working. greed and banking should never be together

madest - "Greed" is not the problem. Bankers have had greed always. Hell everyone has greed. But the Politicians loosened the regulations on them. The politicians took the campaign money and then passed tax law in favor of thieves. The bankers and corporations might have been the Mob Boss', but the politicians were the actual Hit Men that pulled the trigger.

Call it the politicians "greed" if you prefer.

Everything wrong with this country can be traced to George W. Bush's 12 trillion dollar wars he lied about. Reagan de-regulated banks. So thank you Republicans, for doing what the terrorists couldn't.

No Gerry, It's greed. Bernie's right. Greed does indeed drive some people. I don't know how you would legislate it though.
Politicians didn't invent greed but the greedy ones played along. Sam Walton didn't start WalMart because of greed but the same can't be said for the founder of Bernard Madoff Investment Securities, LLC! The people who invented the credit default swap were greedy. They knew it would fail in the long run but huge profits would roll in fast and furious. The system they work in spent millions to make their greedy investment a reality.
When the market crashed the greedy got bailed out by the same people they stole from. Have you ever considered that Bernie Madoff may well be in jail today because he stole from greedy people? The people who created, insured, rated and sold credit default swaps are free because the people they stole from aren't greedy no, they're just dumb.

I don't blame rich people. The Walmart heirs did not bankrupt this country. They're not villains because they are rich.

I don't blame the banks. They could not have killed the american economy without the help of politicians. They couldn't have stolen everyones money without the ACTIVE participation of Congress and the Senate who passed new tax laws and government regulations that allowed them to.

The politicians were more worried about where the funding for their next campaign was coming from than for the people they were supposed to represent. The politicians bailed out companies they helped to fail with the middle classes taxes, then gave tax breaks to the 1% for their failures.

It's time to take every politician out and shoot them. We might kill one or two good guys by mistake, but let God sort them out. It's time to cull the herd.

We see ourselves going down the same drain to a ruined economy as many European nations, so anger is appropriate here.
Teki:, I scoffed at first, but after watching the video your comment made quite a bit more sense.
