Tuesday, June 26, 2012 2:31:23 PM It was £15 and probably enough food for five hearty breakfasts, so good value. Sharing means you don't get your money back. Fine, share with your mates and pay up. £3 for 20% of that is a good deal. |

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 11:09:09 AM Wow. I consider myself a fairly decent trenchman but I'm not sure I could put much of a dent in that. Make me hungry thinking about it though. ..and I'm a skinny little git. Eat like a horse, work like a horse. Diabetes might get me, but when it does I'll have packed away a lot of good food and drink. |

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 5:45:01 AM RdDan. Look up 'Mongolism'. This outdated term was used to define the condition currently referred to as Down's syndrome. (The chromosomal abnormality). The name came from the appearance of a person with Down's bearing a resemblance to a person from the east Asian Mongolian races, hence Mongoloid. This word is now no longer in common parlance, because of the offensive implication that people from Mongolian regions were mentally and/or physically impaired. Our wonderful(?) language is littered with archaic expressions describing the mental faculty, (or lack of), in a person, including; idiot, imbecile, moron and cretin. Despite their being references to a person's IQ, they are often used, but rarely considered offensive. All are considered to be insulting; it is the circumstance and context of their use that forms the boundary between joke and crass insensitivity. I personally find the terms 'mong' and 'spas' offensive, but still use 'half-wit'. Yes, Ric |

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 1:44:19 AM What a waste of food. I hope they give it to the homeless or something if it doesn't get eaten but is still hot. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 8:24:54 PM A week or so ago, me and my mate had a competition: 1 hour for a 15 inch squared pizza while walking. I came in under the time, this is why you're fat Britain. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 6:30:57 PM "calling them a mong which I am assuming is short of MONGOLOID (which you most likely didn't know and which btw is NOT down syndrome genuis but a out of date term used to describe someone that was physically disfigured." In England the term mong is used as a derogatory insult directed towards sufferers of Down's Syndrome or (when directed at non-sufferers) comparing the victim in a derogatory way to a Down's Syndrome sufferer. Ricky Gervais recently used the insult whilst claiming he was "taking it back" as a term to describe an idiot. To which most people replied "why don't you just use the word idiot". Ricky Gervais is a dick. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 6:07:35 PM @LordJim Hash browns are an amazing food. They are potatoes that are shredded and mixed with some eggs and flour to hold them together. You can season them however you like and then saute them in some butter until they're golden brown. MMMMMMMMM delicious. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 2:52:17 PM Monday, June 25, 2012 11:28:52 AM jamie76, a mong is a slang term for a downs syndrome, and don't assume we're all like the lot in london, i love how easy it is to wind you yanks up lol let me see if I understand this. I post a response to your PROFANITY LACED RANT, in which I play along with what you are saying and make a joke of it and I am the one that was 'wound up"? yeah I am pretty sure one of us wsas wound up and I am pretty sure it is the one that started cussing and ranting on about someone else's penis hanging out and calling them a mong which I am assuming is short of MONGOLOID (which you most likely didn't know and which btw is NOT down syndrome genuis but a out of date term used to describe someone that was physically disfigured. so, my little limey bastage, chill out and keep stuffing your fatty face with those spotted dicks and fried everything else. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 1:55:00 PM That was featured on a show about why populations are getting fatter.... including the UK. he was using it to compare to similar plates in the USA. It was an interesting show and made me think more about fat and sugar while I tucked into my home made fudge, comprised mainly of fat and sugar. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 1:04:46 PM I agree with the full english- but prefer fried bread, and I do have coffee. Good start to a working day- not a sitting on your arse day though- sarnie for lunch and a sensible dinner. That is just stupid- and such a WASTE. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 12:18:15 PM Gerry, NZ is marginally fatter than the UK? But they do all those sports and bungee jumping and rafting and stuff. I've never actually been but that's the line they have been feeding us. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 12:14:21 PM Still, nothing beats a good 'full English'. Two rashers of unsmoked back bacon, a Cumberland sausage, two fried eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and black pudding, two toast. (What are these 'hash browns' of which you speak?) The secret is tea, not coffee as a beverage. Tea cuts through the grease the way coffee just can't. And a third slice of toast with marmalade to cleanse the pallete. Perfect start to a Saturday. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 11:39:13 AM I think you'll find Gerry that while you're right that we are 'about the same' in terms of numbers over a healthy BMI, America has WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more morbidly obese people. Most people over here are a little bit chubby... but many people over there have their own 'zip codes'. |
