Friday, June 22, 2012 8:23:58 PM i-am-evil, I don't think most ppl see a white substance being snorted and instantly think 'bath salts!', possibly because 'bath salts' are depressing faux drugs for desperate kids who can't manage to find real ones that won't put you in the hospital. As for this show, the premise behind it bothers me a bit. Usually what the person is 'addicted' to serves as the main point; that way people can tune in to gawk at and ridicule them for their oddball behavior. Except the object of addiction matters little. Each person may attach to dif. things, but in reality they're all associating comfort with certain items. They're basically suffering just the mental aspects of addiction with rituals and whatnot, and if you remove the chemical aspect you'll usually find similar processes of addiction in everyone. That's why rehabs can serve ppl without even knowing their DOC many times. Of course the mental part is almost always the toughest part to beat... |
