Tuesday, June 26, 2012 7:43:57 PM Stupid tautology is stupid. Of course if you carefully redefine "beautiful" until it applies to everyone by default...then everyone is beautiful. Unfortunately, the entire video was about physical attractiveness, not inner warmth or sense of humor or any of the other feel-good BS they trotted out at the end. |

Monday, June 25, 2012 8:10:30 AM I call bullpoo . . . since the dawn of man, we are designed to go for the pretty girl. You can't fight millions of years of evolution. There is nothing wrong about teaching that beauty is only skin deep and a fashion model is out of most men's league. You must love yourself before you can truly love another. The rest is just sex. |

Saturday, June 23, 2012 11:42:32 PM Some angry fat feminist made this. Women are just as judgmental on how men look. Don't get it twisted now. |

Saturday, June 23, 2012 10:52:22 AM I think that when we look at the problem of beauty we're looking in the wrong place; it's not the result of too much input distorting our own view of what is beautiful. As richanddead has stated, it's a natural drive that tells us what we want. It has nothing to do with what advertisements tell us. These exist to entice women into buying products to make themselves more beautiful, i.e. superior to, their peers. This is nothing new; Victorian women bled themselves fair and crushed their ribs in corsets to obtain a beauty ideal. The obsession with thinness is a problem in our culture; this is a place where our perception of beauty has been distorted by our culture. In many cultures, very thin women are not considered attractive because it means they are too poor to afford quality food. In our society, obesity is linked to poor diet whereas thinness is viewed as an achievement that is difficult to obtain. |

Saturday, June 23, 2012 7:41:58 AM @drawman61.. yep It's also funny the film makers don't take in to account the old adage "beauty is held in the eye of the beholder".... witch is true. I think the film makers are pressing their "issue" to the point of laughaility. |

Saturday, June 23, 2012 6:20:56 AM Funny how it's the women and girls that spend all their cash on beauty products to disguise themselves as something they are not, then blame the men for liking what they see. |

Saturday, June 23, 2012 4:56:28 AM This is nothing new to anyone who has a brain. What is sad is that men are being roped into this farce as well. |

Saturday, June 23, 2012 1:02:15 AM New research is finding that human womens' breasts are uniquely swollen and large, mainly because human guys have always liked big tits. Way before Barbie ever came along, people knew what they wanted, and no little service announcement will ever change that. |

Friday, June 22, 2012 7:17:36 PM I would have given this a little more credit if it made even the slightest reference to the ideal male image. Not having a gajillion dollars, a full head of hair, a 'workout for 2 hours a day' body and a 12" wang is exactly the same thing. Thats why we have liquor! |

Friday, June 22, 2012 2:14:06 PM So women from other parts of the world aren't obsessed with their appearances? Give me a break! Also, they only interviewed high-school girls who are always dramatic about EVERYTHING. I get the message they were so desperately trying to send, but it was not received well. |

Friday, June 22, 2012 1:35:43 PM Seeing beauty as good health is sexual selection. Sexual selection are individuals selecting who to mate with. Natural selection is natural 'forces' selecting who is able to reproduce further. This is obviously about how Americans (individuals) select who they could potentially mate with. |

Friday, June 22, 2012 12:06:01 PM MacGuffin-"It's not as if men have been shown time and time again to be getting paid more than women for doing exactly the same jobs or anything." Read your own article. That ruling included men, too. It was more about roles. As quoted '100 male clients, who were employed in roles that had traditionally been considered women's roles such as caring and cleaning.'. So it wasn't 'gender' as much as 'job-classification'. Different jobs pay different rates. Show me a woman DOING THE SAME EXACT JOB as a man where she's getting paid a lower rate. THEN you'd have a complaint. I've worked jobs where everyone in the job classification got the same pay, no matter what their sex. I've also worked jobs where everyone got paid different rates, but it was based SOLELY on seniority, not gender.
