The saddest thing to me is children losing/breaking something. I saw a little girl drop her ice cream cone and start crying...just heartbreaking. Also, seeing a toy lying on the ground outside is implied sadness.

At that age, when something touches the floor or say a cookie is broken in half, it's ruined and simply cannot be eaten.
