In canada a man molested and murdered over 30 children. Our government paid him money to reveal victims burials. He is alive today and is well protected in jail with television and internet. For this I am ashamed. I even volunteered to pull the trigger or drop the trap . . . |

HolyGod - He sexually asaulted a 4 year old? We only have the killers word for that. Maybe they got into a fight over money. We don't know, we only have the killers statement.
My point is that in each case the media has taken sides rather than just report facts. For the record, I wouldn't charge the dad with anything, but I also wouldn't have charged Zimmerman. Same lack of evidence. |

If this went down as described what are the chances of a jury bringing in a guilty verdict on any charge? Close to zero, I would have thought.
In theory it could have been a set-up, but if so it was pointlessly elaborate. |

Gah, I was wrong. I got cases mixed up and I didn't wade through the adverts to check this video. This case looks like reasonable force, a different thing entirely. I was put off by the description referring to killing without trial as justice, which it isn't. It may be the least bad course of action available sometimes, but it's not justice. |

If vengeance is justice, why bother having any laws?
When the american justice system says that under these extraordinary circumstances this mans actions were justified, I don't believe you can rationally argue for the dissolution of laws. The laws protected this man. This was a victory for justice. |

It's not about vengeance, nor justice, it's about protecting your 4-year-old daughter and yourself.
I see you on top of my daughter, I knock you off of her and hit you until I feel you can't get back up. Not because I'm angry (I am), but because you've already proven you're intention to harm my child; if I let you get back up you may seek to do her further harm and you may even seek to harm me. You may have a weapon on you that you'll only be able to retrieve if I stop beating you. Letting you back up is too big a risk, both for me and my defenseless child, so I'm going to beat you until I feel confident that you cannot harm either of us.
This may result in your death, but I would simply point out that you were the one that put me into the position of having to choose between my daughter's safety and yours. |

Seen this. Anyone who says this was not justified should never be allowed to have kids.
Also, when the girl was examined, she had injuries consistent with the Father's report of what he saw.
Good for the father. We need more like him. One pedo down. Maybe we could have a celeb deathmatch next between him and Jerry Sanduscky (sp?). |

This wasn't about vengeance. This was about a man protecting a defenseless family member from any further harm. I'd have done the same. Call it what you want, I could personally give a dead moose's last crap but that moron got what he deserved. |

That's a serious question. Anyone who believes that vengeance is justice must conclude that the entire legal system is a huge waste of public money and that it reduces the amount of justice - in order to be internally consistent they *must* advocate the complete dissolution of the law.
If they were guilty, I don't much care that they've been killed. Of course, since they're dead we're not going to know if they were guilty, are we?
Regardless of whether or not they were guilty, I do care about idea that vengeance is justice. That is fundamentally incompatible with a civilisation based on law and I like living in a civilisation based on law. |

-Regarding the set-up possibility: 4yr olds are easily confused into believe other versions of events happened, plus their distressed confused testimony is no where near as strong as an adults anywhere.
Killing the guy was a step too far. Presuming this isn't a set up, using violence to get him away from the girl was justified, but murder is too far. Everyone deserves a fair trial and killing him robs him of that. In the UK he would be charged with manslaughter (unless he says he meant to kill him, then it would be murder). Our self defense laws only let you kill if somebody is in immediate danger of being killed, which she was not. |

Your theory is that,possibly, this man, his son, his father, and his 4 yr old daughter all entered into in an elaborate conspiracy including leaving evidence of her sexual assault to give the man the ability to kill this guy unscathed?
4 yr olds are awesome at consistent, elaborate lies told in believable fashion. I have kids. I know from personal experience.

The HUGE difference here is that this man did nothing to contribute to the underlying reason a confrontation took place in which he killed a man. Zimmerman did.
Take this guy out of the picture and a 4 yr old girl gets sexually assaulted and who knows what else.
Take Zimmerman out of the picture and Trayvon walks home with skittles and iced tea.
