It's incredible the number of case of head injured people who make it out alive because they let the object inside the crane until a doctor could treat them.
They dont make many reports about those who die that way or even those who die because someone tried to remove the object by themselves. |

What gets me is the wasted time on a press conference. Shouldn't those doctors be working or something. I would think it doesn't take three of them to talk, hell, don't hospitals have PR people for this? |

A guy in the 50s tamping dynamite shot the tamping rod through his head, suffered increasing difficulty over time; counting change, reading.
My gal-pal was in a coma for a week after head injury in a crash. She has significant memory retention issues and emotionally gets frustrated over that loss and associated problems with numbers.

I was reading an article about this in the New England Journal of Medicine and it seems the only functional damage he sustained is every time he hears a seagull he poos his pants. Strange world. |

Poor kid. He'll probably have behavioural problems from this. The brain can take a lot of damage, but discrete areas control certain aspects of behaviour and/or ability. Look at Phineas Gage. |
