I don't know, lack of uniforms, classy scenery and supply of easy women suggests French resistance to me. Just because the guy in front is carrying a Thompson doesn't mean he's American; the French underground got lots of help from the Allies.

What a load of bollocks! By the time the three of them have kicked in the door, shot the bloke at the top of the stairs, run to the bottom of the steep flight of stairs, then posed for the 'shot', Fritz would have got up and reacted a bit quicker that this imbecilic picture suggests.
