I'd have to say, that's about right. What I don't understand, though, is how did North Korea manage to score a 1? It must be like the I-A-B rating system where 1 is the lowest possible score. |

Economic freedom is not the same thing as personal freedom! Sure, trade may be "free" in Singapore, where women have to dress modestly in public and you get caned for spitting your gum out onto the sidewalk! |

Just so we're all on the same page here: This is a product of The Heritage Foundation, one of the world's most far-right conservative "think tanks" (i.e., propaganda mills).
No doubt the experts behind this ranking would move the USA to the #1 spot if only we could outlaw all unions and organized labor, abolish the minimum wage, repeal all antitrust laws, and defund the EPA, with all its burdensome laws surrounding the disposal of toxic wastes. |

No mention in this list of Personal Freedoms such as gun ownership and freedom of speech, which are very important rights.
Personally I believe America should be in the top 5, but the list does factor in the recent impact of Obama's failed policies. |
