Monday, June 18, 2012 6:02:12 AM I've always treated IAB as a useful index to the stuff on other sites without having to trawl through all their other poo. Not always true, but often is. |

Monday, June 18, 2012 5:10:27 AM Every site steals, get over it. Half of the poo on IAB I've seen somewhere else before. Who cares?! |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 9:37:13 PM I became familiar with 4chan the winter before the Habbo raids started (winter 2004-2005). High degree of OC there then, and it didnt show up anywhere else. After Project Scientology, and the publicity it received, 4chan began to change (more newf*gs, summerf*gs, and cancer), and a lot of oldf*gs moved over to Reddit...the back-and-forth between 4chan and Reddit has been pretty common for at least four years. Since about 2010, the content/memes etc from these two sites have spread everywhere. 9gag childishly "claims" these memes, but nothing original comes from that immature place. Content usually gets posted on 4chan/Reddit first, and then spreads to others,,,, |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 5:00:31 PM Not sure if trolling or just stupid. 9gag steals. IAB steals. I've seen stuff on 9gag then a week later it's on here. I've seen stuff here then it gets to 9gag. |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 10:16:00 AM Wow... Content is copied as follows? Stumble Upon -> I-A-B -> Reddit -> Funny Junk -> 4Chan -> 9gag? I'm being trolled right now, right? The only two sites in the list who don't copy all of their content is 4chan and Reddit. I begrudgingly say Reddit doesn't steal all of its content because of its stupid vector memes like derpette and le me gusta XD. Though admittedly a lot of its poo was taken from 4chan, too. I know because stuff I like ends up spreading all over reddit like "that feel" which on reddit became "dat feel." I really dislike reddit. It's basically a bad 4chan for 12 year old girls. |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 5:54:45 AM Pretty sure it goes Reddit/4chan, then Funnyjunk picks it up, then somethingaweful, then 9gag makes a disgusting mutilated copy of it, then other small blog sites pick it up, then finally I-am-bored picks up the remains. |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 5:51:30 AM There's no such thing as original content on the internet. Once you upload it, it's theirs. That's just the way it works. 9gag, 4chan, Reddit and the rest of 'em know this and use that fact. That's all there is to it. |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 1:19:19 AM IAB doesn't 'steal' content, users like myself submit content and it either gets approved or it doesn't. That's not to say that Fancylad and the mods don't find content on their own, but they do give credit where it is due. 'Stealing' content would be like what funnyjunk did to the oatmeal for years, not giving the artist credit for his work. Maybe sometimes a photo or two goes uncredited and that's usually the fault of the submitter or the original source where the submitter found the content. |

Saturday, June 16, 2012 10:05:41 PM In regards to memes, 4chan and Reddit have generated more OC, and continue to, than anyone else. I have followed both for some time, and, again and again, have seen stuff there first, before anywhere else. Most other sites' content usually can be back-traced to an earlier post on another site. Related - Last month I saw a thread on Reddit, and I-A-B was called one of the top OC theives haha !! |
