I don’t know why anyone ever thought Obama would stand up for our rights any more than Bush did. I bet his voters were disappointed after he signed the NDAA, allowing indefinite detention of American citizens. Luckily, citizens and state governments alike are starting to fight back against it (more about that here) If Obama thinks he can subjugate the American people that easily, he’s got another thing coming…

@markust123 I'm confused as to how that graph proves anything. Of course patriot groups aren't going to that prevalent when a very conservative president is in office. Nothing on that graph has anything to do with race. |

The writer has published his work in a journal. He is a journalist. He is not one we should take seriously, in common with many journalists, but that does not change his role in this story.
The SPLC is pretty lousy and partial in its reports, but their own characterisation does not place race above politics in the rise of the "Patriot" movement. The journalist twisted the report to that viewpoint. |

The US DOJ is run by racists. OWS is cut therough by racism, be it the overt anti-Semitism or the documented ignoring of blacks by the leadership. Obama attended a church for 20 years with racists in its midst, including in the pulpit.
There is no evidence of more racism in the "Patriot" movement than in any US grouping you choose. |

You can tell the article is complete bullsh*t when they mention Obama's race every time he is mentioned. It is nothing to do with his race - it is the fact that he is a Marxist, has no respect for the country's constitution, has no respect for the rule of law and frequently uses bullying to get his way; he also reaches out diplomatically to dictatorial regimes abroad. Notice that every one of these is a characteristic of someone like Chavez or Putin - aspiring dictators.
I don't think Obama is aiming to be a dictator. On the other hand, given the aforementioned facts and given that several high-profile Obama supporters have openly talked about their desire for dictatorial authority for Obama, it is hardly surprising that many people disagree with me.
So where does race come into this? Are you really going to take a journalist seriously who ignores all these factors and only thinks of race? In other words, a racist reporter? |

Probably because Republicans are very literal when it comes to the whole 2nd amendment, and the whole overthrowing a government you do not agree with thing that our founding fathers spoke of.
