Sunday, June 17, 2012 10:39:33 AM But it's a satirical joke--it's trying to make a valid point. Only that point is very obviously wrong. So it's a bad joke. People are nostalgia-crazy, especially right now for some reason, and they're all so caught up in glorifying the past that they never stop to remember what it was really like. This joke follows in that tradition, and that's why it's annoying. |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 10:24:40 AM "Except this is completely inaccurate. The only things actually getting phased out are printed porn and newspapers, but we enjoy those activities just as much (if not more) on the computer. People still play guitar, dance around to music, watch movies in groups, and talk on the phone. " You're taking this too seriously dude, It's just a joke.. You're right about it being inaccurate, but it's also true that the computer can do all of those things and that many people out there use it for all of those things. Jokes can be superficial, that's why they're jokes and not serious factual statements. It doesn't need to be completely true for people to see the humor in it. |

"You're taking this too seriously dude, it's just a joke" Look, if you're going to make a comment on how things used to be better, it should actually make sense more than superficially. |

Sunday, June 17, 2012 7:59:50 AM ......... While you're right, this really sucks. The other stuff looks so fun. I have never sat down and read a whole newspaper, while sitting down and relaxing, but It always is annoying knowing that you can get all this information much faster on the internet (even local news). I guess I was just raised into this modern world. It kinda reminds me of when I visited some family in Nigeria. Many people are old school like this. To use a computer you go to an internet cafe. There is a market. Non-Hd fat Tvs. It was weird because a lot of the programming was also old. Cartoon Network even had some of the shows I had grown up with like Samurai Jack. From what I hear from family though, Nigeria is becoming more and more modern everyday. Now there is a Windows 7 PC in every house. And TVs are also getting upgraded. |
