Thursday, June 14, 2012 9:52:54 PM I'm not a big fan of living in pennsylvania. It's too conservative for my tastes and the only thing we have are amish ppl. I still would like to move to california. All the best things and the best people...well, the best non-famous people at least, live in california. As for the laws, of course they're unconstitutional, but more importantly it's something a lot of people wouldn't be ok with. I'm beginning to realize that unfortunately something's constitutionality doesn't count for much, especially if the infallible, unquestionable gods of the supreme court decide they'll just sort of ignore the constitution and make their decision purely on a whim. After all, why pay attention to the constitution; us puny mortals can't do anything, and even though the gov can technically ignore them they never would. They should get together with the police. They could sit around and laugh at how pathetic and impotent everyone else is. |

Wednesday, June 13, 2012 1:29:18 AM @Idlerlee2 Eh. Why bother learning stats or even locations of places you have no intention of going to. Now if you mentioned Canada, I'd be all ears. (Best looking gay guys that have ever lived are in Canada.) :3 |

Tuesday, June 12, 2012 8:31:18 AM @thosbeama74 - Sorry to break your bubble but: USA isn't the best country in the world. And there are thousands of factors, but I'll just list a few very simple ones: You still connect some mythical creature in the clouds to your public offices. Mixing religion and politics like it's not a big thing. Most nations in the world adhere to a system where you can indeed write and say what you want. Not all, by no means, but most. Iceland is the most peaceful and democratic nation on the planet. USA ranks a whooping #88. Infact: All of Europe is considered more democractic, and more peaceful, than the USA. (source: www.visionofhumanity.org /wp-content/uploads/2012/06/ 2012-Global-Peace-Index-Report.pdf) Democracy origins from ancient Greece. It is by no means an heritage given to Europe by the funding fathers. Most Americans think Europe is a country, and couldn't place Norway on the map if they had a gun to their temple. So hey |

Tuesday, June 12, 2012 7:31:49 AM Enlisted military family here, thanks for your service but serving doesn't give you more sway on what you think is right and wrong. You do come across as a hateful, narrow-minded bigot. You are free to speak your mind but only a fool speaks without tact and dignity. If you don't like it, get out? No, I think if I don't like it I'll vote to change it instead. It's not hate speech, I just hate you? Really? Good luck to you. |

Tuesday, June 12, 2012 5:26:52 AM Mad_Gremlyn, Oh so I'm a redneck because I enlisted..I'm just a bunkin and everything you say is just so enlightened and such a Gem and everything I say is puke.. Well everything I read on these sites are verbal vomit, and yes I'm getting reprimanded.. How dare I believe in a higher power how dare I believe in "MY" Country. It's people like you that I have problem with, this Country is the best in the World. This country gives you the opportunity write and say whatever you want. It's people like you that have ruined what the founding fathers have left Europe. I never physically pushed these people out of this Country. I'm saying if you don't like then get out.. I'm tired of people like you who complaining all the time and wanting to turn this country into and socialist police state. It's not hate speech, I just hate you!! |

Monday, June 11, 2012 7:16:42 PM @thosbeama74: Reprimanded? How so? Or, in reality it is that sometimes when you spew your hate filled bile, people call you on it? No one is hauling you off somewhere, you aren't being "reprimanded" in any dire way. When people respond to your drek, that's a conversation or a debate, perhaps. Again, it's not your country to kick anyone out of, no matter if you've enlist or not. Further more, this redneck mentality that you get to decide if someone can be in America is the garbage that you are spewing and should be challenged. If you want a one way conversation, you're in the wrong place. And that's what seems to have you riled, that you can't just puke your hate and go unchallenged. Turn off Sean Hannity and learn something about the founding of this country. I don't care if you got live your fantasy of legalized homicide, you're not defending anyone's rights as written by the founders and that very obvious. Flame out, I'm done with your ignorant redneck garbage. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 3:58:35 PM @Mad_Gremlyn, it is my Country I have fought for it and I personally don't care how "Anti-American" I sound to you or European and Canadian people think. My problem is that other people can say whatever they want about the Country I love and will lay down my life for and it's "ok"... But when I have an opinion and speak my mind about the trash that comes out of their mouths I get reprimanded. That's the problem.. cow tailing to these people, you're weak minded and have no backbone and should not be in "MY" Country and Country that my forefathers fought to the death for. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 9:30:20 AM Obviously these fly in the face of the US constitution and are unenforceable. But they are still on the books. Of course you don't have to be a christian, just acknowledge a Supreme Being. So Satanists are fine. The Boy Scouts have a similar rule, but they actually enforce it. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 8:57:02 AM Go to wikipedia, it explains this. for example, the wikipedia entry for Article 1, Section 4 of the Texan Constitution (its on the page for the constitution) says that it not only violates the American constitution in two ways, but also is unenforcable and so is not used in modern times. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 8:37:01 AM @Gerry: I understand. But why aren't these laws that can't be legally enforced immediately struck down once the ruling of the SC is made? |

patch - a politician can't vote in favor of striking down those laws. If he did, at the next election his oposition would run ads that he was "Against God". They're too concerned with their re-elections. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 8:27:49 AM Sounds like a case of the left hand not knowing what the right one is doing. Why is it so difficult for those state laws to be struck down and removed then? Why is it so difficult to do that? |

Monday, June 11, 2012 7:50:39 AM So 'turn the other cheek' no longer has any credence to Christians, then? |

Monday, June 11, 2012 5:09:14 AM @nayrbarr Actually the state is not allowed to enforce the ban. The Supreme Court struck down the use of religious tests in 1961. Which ultimately means that this infographic wholly misleading. The language IS there the but state is not allowed to enforce it. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 5:02:55 AM i'm from Texas and there is a weird thing that says you must believe in a supreme being of some sort to hold office but it is not enforced at all. So am I but the phrase should be erased from the constitution nonetheless. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 4:54:02 AM @kylezor So what you're saying is that it *is* technically true. It doesn't matter if it's enforced, it matters that the law exists. Furthermore, it can be enforced at any time which is a serious threat to atheists in office. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 4:39:05 AM Somehow I'm not surprised that Mississippi is on this list. With all the backwater, racist, bible beating "the South shall rise again" bulls#it that originates from there... yeah, I see how that made it into their laws. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 4:21:56 AM this is not true. i'm from Texas and there is a weird thing that says you must believe in a supreme being of some sort to hold office but it is not enforced at all. i agree we need to take separation of church and state more seriously but the Christians just have so much damn political power here. |

Monday, June 11, 2012 4:17:53 AM So it's fine to admit to butt-love, being allowed to stop in a country illegally because it might offend your human rights, cost your country millions but still get huge bonuses because you ran a bank poorly but dare to say you don't believe in something as provable as the tooth-fairy and you're stoned to death. |
