Sunday, June 10, 2012 1:03:12 PM Thonious... I may be wrong, but they said it had to do with de-oxygenated blood. I imagine a severed hand wouldn't have much left. |

Saturday, June 09, 2012 9:14:28 PM There are already several biometric ID systems out there now -- finger prints, hand geometry, retina scans, etc. -- now there's another. *Yawn...* |

Saturday, June 09, 2012 7:54:07 PM @Jhylia I know the fingerprints and eyes would be different, so I would say yes to the veins being different, but it's a guess. |

Saturday, June 09, 2012 6:50:27 PM @darkmagic14n They don't work if the tissue is no longer connected to a beating heart (dead or severed). My office building has one of these, but I don't have clearance for it. |

Saturday, June 09, 2012 2:11:27 PM you know in some countries it is already taken off, just not in usa. Main thing is because of people thinking it is like government controlling everything. It is a sense of freedom and privacy but people are starting to get more into technology nowadays so those techs which were before seen as invasion of privacy is now seens as a cool new way of doing stuff. |

Saturday, June 09, 2012 1:03:42 PM If you think about it though Darkmagic, this relies on the blood flowing back toward your heart in your palms.... so a severed hand most likely wouldnt have the blood in it for very long, therefore rendering a severed hand useless |

Saturday, June 09, 2012 12:31:09 PM There's a reason thumbprint and biometric security hasn't taken off, nobody wants to lose a limb/appendage when they're mugged |
