Saturday, June 09, 2012 1:00:25 AM well said. if more religious figures acted in this manner then maybe religion wouldn't be such a despised entity in today's younger generations. |

It's not often you find a real christian. One who is more interested in looking after the sins within than judging the sins without. Makes me wish there were a heaven so he could go there one day. |

Friday, June 08, 2012 7:06:55 PM "Not every pastor is a hate-monger". This guy, then, is the exception to the rule, that Christian pastors are hate-mongers..... Lol, no point in actually putting an opinion on this thread !! |

Friday, June 08, 2012 6:39:34 PM Some denominations are refreshingly progressive on GLBT issues. There's an art series I find particularly inspiring called the "Gay Passion of Christ". It retells the Jesus story from a modern gay perspective, as if all of it happened in our own time and place. A sample:
The whole series can be found here, there's explanations for each piece and even devotional meditations included for those so inclined. The times they are a changin' |

Friday, June 08, 2012 6:35:19 PM I like when he said "why are you so angry that you have to setup conference calls?" Whenever I get mad I'm 3-way calling everybody! But yeah, what he said. |

Friday, June 08, 2012 5:13:53 PM PAY ATTENTION other Christians. this IS what Jesus taught. THIS RIGHT HERE. It is not up to us to judge others, that is God's job. It is up to us as Christians to LOVE all people, including those we do not agree with and that means keeping out mouths shut about the choices/life style/gender choice they make.

Friday, June 08, 2012 4:04:57 PM ya know i don't remember the golden rule saying... "do unto others as you would have them do unto you, unless they don't believe the same things you do" some people of "faith" need to wake up, and this guy needs to be the one to set the alarm! |

Can I get an amen! But why do black preachers talk like that? It's stylish and grabs attention, but-ah it's kind of funny-ah to lisketen-ah to-ah.

Friday, June 08, 2012 3:49:33 PM Damn, he's an annoying public speaker! He's right to bang on about the seperation of church and state and it's surprising to hear a cleric doing so, but he's more annoying as a public speaker than someone inhaling helium and squeaking their speech while being mostly drowned out by insane dubstep. "majoring in what Jesus minored in" is a catchy way of saying that too many Christians attach too much importance to things Jesus didn't attach much importance to. Or maybe none - as he says, there's nothing about homosexuality attributed to Jesus in the Christian bible. |
