Friday, June 08, 2012 9:38:56 AM This is a tough one. I usually like Tarantino's films, but I lost all respect for Mr. Foxx. If you would like to see typical grade-school-level bullying: Jagoff |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 12:12:41 PM Okay. Tell you what. If you don't like Tarantino, don't watch his movies. Don't comment on them either. Let his fans have a place to cup his balls. Didn't your momma ever teach you? If you don't have something nice to say....... |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 11:58:35 AM Tarantino claims to be a mash up director. He says this HIMSELF! He has publicly said he borrows from Kurosawa, DePalma, Coppola, Scorcese and many, many others. He also claims to borrow from blaxploitation, and spaghetti western, and asian films because those were his favorites as a teenager. This, however, is his claim to fame. Nobody pulls off long tracking shots like he does. |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 11:40:51 AM 'claiming that you are not familiar with it is a homage is it?' You need to provide citation on this. Tarantino does borrow, and I've never seen him deny it. That's silly criticism, because he does it on purpose and the references are meant to be noticed by those who enjoy cinema. He's also responsible for introducing lesser known cinema to the current generation of film-goers. |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 11:30:11 AM @auburnjunky - so ripping off the plot and several set pieces from a film, then when first questioned about it claiming that you are not familiar with it is a homage is it? ha ha... Like i said, i congratulate him. it takes a certain type of intelligence to do what he does. |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 10:59:01 AM There are lots of well-known filmmakers who borrow shots and plot ideas from other directors. Kurosawa was widely mimicked by a lot of filmmakers who are now considered to be greats. Tarantino just does it more openly. |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 10:54:42 AM som-tam doesn't know the difference between stealing, and homage. He cites each director that he borrows from. Listen to the commentary. |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 10:28:42 AM i have to congratulate tarantino for forging a career out of stealing other directors ideas and styles. He really is a poster-boy for unoriginality and plagiarism. |

Thursday, June 07, 2012 10:06:09 AM 'I find them all style with little substance.' Zak Snyder and Michael Bay are directors I would describe that way, but not Tarantino. His stories are often excellent. Sergio Leone is known primarily for his style, but it would fight to the death anyone who would call them shallow. 'Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio. Two reasons why this will be the first Tarantino movie I don't want to see.' I don't care for DiCaprio either. His performances always feel like he's 'acting' rather than living the role. Jamie Foxx is great in certain roles, but often takes parts that are wrong for his skill set. Both have their flaws, but have been in some excellent films. |
