Cooler areas with high magnetic activity. they move about all over the suns surface, growing and shrinking. most solarflares develop in these spots. some are also visible from earth without a telescope, but i wouldn't recomend looking for them without proper equipment;) Fun fact.. if you could place one of these spots anywhere on the nightsky they would be much brighter than most stars. they just look black because of a contrast effect. |
