"Come on, America--really? You're a First World Country..."

I waited for the point of that statement and then went to play Pokemon Black instead.

V You're based in China, as I recall. And lemme tell you the rest of the world is just green with envy over your free and democratic elections, your free and unimpeded press and your stupendous Human Rights record.

We get, better than anyone else in fact, just how much we are a nation with some adjustments to make, and they will be made. Until then, I'll only worry when we've reached parity with China's abysmal standards.

"What is stupid is to mock and make fun of the vast majority of the population of the world. The fact is atheism is a small minority"

I can't believe so many people are so ignorant as to believe the bible is anything but a manipulative fabrication.

Argumentum ad populum. I bet people like you said the same thing about the Earth being flat or that Sol revolves around us.

Really? Do you dispute the data in the chart I posted? If not how does that not completely counter what you said?

First, go here:

http://tinyurl.com/7fg6t

Then scroll about 1/3 of the way down to Breakdown by state. You will find some variables that correlate much more closely to IQ than does religiosity. It also explains many of the outliers in your chart.

Also, if IQ is inversely proportional to religiousness, how can you explain that the two most brilliant people who ever lived -- Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein -- were both believers?

Why would anyone actually think that's an accurate statistic?

That's actually wrong. If you add up all the secular/athiests i n every country it is a tad more than 50% of the population. They just all seem to be concentrated in a few places.

NottaSpy: Finding hope, moral guidance and inspiration in religion is not stupid.

What is stupid is to mock and make fun of the vast majority of the population of the world. The fact is atheism is a small minority and will likely stay that way because it can't offer the hope, love and charity that faith can.

HG: why do you view every anti religious post trolling?

Because of the condescending titles and the obvious use of these anti-religious posts to drive traffic here. It's like a little brother that keeps stepping on his sisters sore toe. That's why it's considered trolling.

What case? You never made one.

BTW, HolyGod, neither did you.

Not only a fairy tale, but a blatantly recycled fairy tale with stories taken from since abandoned religions.

CrakrJak, There are tons of posts about stupid people doing stupid things. Why do you only complain when the stupidity is about religion? I don't see kids coming here to complain about the rocking horse video (the next post). You believe in a fairy tale, expect to be mocked.

Yes it is. I agree with you. But why do you view every anti religious post trolling? People obviously find them interesting as shown by the multiple pages of comments.

So the reason Vermont is healthier, more educated, and better off is because they have less black people?

Wow you really are just an ignorant, old, religious, racist aren't you? Are you fat too? It's like talking to a caricature of a republican. Are you jacking off to guns and ammo right now?

Isn't this a repost from yesterday, basically?

Seriously IAB, we could do without this kind of trolling and there are better submissions in the list.

It may very well be true that the establishment has used religion to maintain control. Submissiveness kind of goes with religion.

Ollie, who's been in power in Mississippi since time immemorial?

Which state has the more fraught racial history? With all the state sanctioned discrimination, lynchings and unsolved race based murders?

I rest my case.
