IMO, I don't care what our president's personal life is. The president could be male/female, religious/atheist, Christian/Jewish/Muslim/Sheik/Morman, White/Black/Red/Brown/Yellow, or an American born with foreign parents. Why the drat does it matter? seriously, who the drat cares. America isn't a white protestant country of men. It hasn't been since before the emancipation. Hell I would even argue before then. It certainly hasn't been since immigration, and it certainly hasn't been since women's suffrage. Our president must represent America. That means sometimes he is a white protestant. sometimes he/she is not. That's the face of America. If you don't like it, go somewhere that is, we won't miss you.
That's the point I think Maher is making here. He's joking about the "wifer" movement because he knows the birther movement doesn't matter. and it shouldn't! |

I don't think they'd willfully sabotage one of their own...although you know they don't particularly care for him. After all, they've been busy cannibalizing all of his previous policies as Mass. Gov. so maybe it *isn't* so far out of the question. |

I think Maher is making is plainly obvious how silly the whole birther thing is and honestly, his example of the 'wifer" is NO SILLIER than the birther crap.
